Can you point me toward a step by step of starting to use a 3018 CNC? I built one but I mostly 3D print.

I'm not really a CNC guy. Work as a programmer, so I decided to keep my machining predominantly manual.

That model would only be used for wood/plastic I presume. Definitely doesn't look rigid enough to do metal, maybe Alu if you take it easy. If I was to get something like that, I'd work on its rigidity first, that will probably give you the most results/effort. Small cutter with very high spindle speed, maybe replace the stock motor with something more powerful and faster (but given its size, options would be limited).

It really depends on what you want to do with it.

If you are looking to CNC some harder metals, this is about as low a cost entry point that I've found so far.
