Yeah true, but if by that time there is already an owner does that mean there can be only one? As in that person would have to add me?

Yeah, if it does get claimed, that person will have to add you as a mod.

How to be eligible for a request?

You must be level 6 and up
You must have been an active user in the requested sub for more than 1 month.

Which subs are eligible?

Only subs created by users
(default subs aren't)
Subs where owners and all mod accounts have been MIA for at least 3 months.
Abandoned subs with a red "You can claim this sub" in the sidebar.

Notice:

Being eligible doesn't mean a request will be automatically granted and admins reserve the right to reject a request for an undisclosed reason not mentioned in these rules.
If owners/mods are active, your request will automatically be rejected. (contact the mods if you want to join a sub mod team)
