Some company (electricity provider) charged someone $11k during a major snowstorm because of "surge pricing".

When I move I am going to have a minimum of 3 ways to generate my own power and will be trying to run off it as often as possible. Can you imagine getting a fucking $11k power bill because you don't want to freeze to death?

On another note, yeah. My power bill has gone up a TON without me changing anything about how we live. If anything I have made the house more energy efficient and it still costs more. Its not even remotely close to what inflation would bump the bill by. I can not wait to get out of this commie shithole so I can work on my own generation and storage systems...
