I went back to Reno in 2023. It was starting then. All the casino hotels were prices the same because they are all owned by the same company. They used to compete so you could get a good deal - 35$ a night at a run down but clean room - I assume it's the same in Vegas. The restraunts got rid of all deals, citing expenses. I'm not a gambler so I have no idea how that was faring But when you have one or two massive, greedy companies running it all, you are going to drive people away who were able to afford to spend time there.

I saw an article that most workers are “on call” which means less staff. They claimed profits were being maximized, with less staff, repairs, cleaning etc and they didn’t want the poors coming back.
