A friend turned me on to this, it's stupid simple to make and tastes great.

1.5lbs flank or chuck steak 1 large russet potato or a handful of small goldens (maybe 10ish.) 1lb carrots or a bag of baby carrots. 2 small sweet onions 1 T black pepper 1 t garlic salt 1/4 t table salt 3 beef bullion cubes A dash of raw course sugar 2 16oz jars mild chunky salsa

Slice the steak in 1/4" strips and slice again unti they are about 1-2" long. Cube potato, don't peel. Peel and slice carrots or just open the bag of baby carrots. Peel and coursely mince onions. A hand chopper works well here.

Place all above in crock pot - you should be about 4/5th full in a round pot. Place spices and bullion on top. Pour salsa over everything. Stir a few times over the course of cooking.

Cook slow for ~10-12 hours. The salsa spices do tend to heat up some, so it has just a tiny little burn to it.

Sounds interesting. I would have to cut out the onions but it could work. It sounds like a lot of various "stews" you just use salsa rather than cooking the rest of the ingredients you would have yourself.

Good on leaving the peel on the potato though. Sure, cut out the eyes or odd-spots but peel-on is good.

I usually don't like onion either, but the two small sweet onions (and by small I mean barely larger than pearl) cooked down seems to work without angering the onion gods that cursed me.

Nice! I love a simple and easy recipe, going to save this for later to make.

I made it today. The meat just kind of falls apart in the stew, if you want bigger chunks some beef tips may be a better choice.
