Supermarket chain Giant Eagle has recalled packages of its smoked mozzarella pasta salad because of potential listeria contamination. The announcement comes alongside a nationwide recall of ready-to-eat pasta, which was produced by California-based Nate's Fine Foods. The ready-to-eat product was sold in Giant Eagle and Market District locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Indiana. The containers of smoked mozzarella penne salad came in small and large sizes with expiration dates marked as September 30 through October 3 and October 7.

Y'all, don't mess with cooked pasta that has sat around. Some fraternity students in the USA somewhere died from pasta that had sat out overnight a few years back and a bunch more of them got violently ill. About a decade ago, I got dog sick thinking I was a dudebro and I ate a plate of pasta that I had left sitting overnight. I figured it's like pizza right? I've eaten pizza that has sat out for days with zero issues. It turns out that pasta harbors some bacteria that gives off some super toxic byproduct as the bacteria consumes the pasta. It's no joke. I was puking/the_runs for about 3 days.

I think the pasta that kid ate had sat out for almost a full week, not just overnight. Unless I'm thinking of a different case.

Cooked rice too. Most people don't know this but fried rice should be eaten when it's made. It is already made with day-old rice. Re-heating it is likely to cause you problems or make you sick (maybe not super sick but sometimes it will).

Ugh pasta salad. These filthy food plants and third world immigrants.

I have been saying this for 10 years.

The more criminal illegals in our supply chain(s) the more recalls, the more health scares, etc... I could probably pull all of the data together to prove it but why? Its fucking obvious.

Its like trying to do a study on "if you can't swim, you will probably die if you jump in the ocean a few miles from shore off a moving boat".
