Wiet Peeters Farm Products Limited, based in Charing Cross, Ontario, has announced a voluntary recall of three of its mushroom products. The health alert comes after routine testing by Canadian food authorities detected traces of listeria monocytogenes bacteria in 227g packages of Aunt Mid's Fresh Sliced Mushrooms. The bacteria is dangerous and can cause severe illness or even death in vulnerable individuals.
