My understanding is that most people in SHTF scenarios aren't bardering alcohol for consumption purposes. Beam would meet most basic needs. Vodka and everclear are some more great options. It doesn't need to be top shelf. Think sterilization. I would also suggest if you haven't already, research previous conflicts and get a good picture of how bardering worked for folks in those situations. It's not pretty or easy. Things like how many people are in your immediate group and ensuring they are armed and proficiant, etc... become a lot more important than bardering to be honest. Bardering is Russian roulette and should only occur in life and death situations if you want to make it to the end of the end of the end game. Stock the booze for your own uses, avoid having to barder IMO. Single families get wiped out extremely easily in SHTF situations and unless you have the ability to fight off the hordes that WILL find you, it will all be for nothing.
