I'd just save up for something bigger with at bare minimum CPM S30V steel, it will retain it's edge much, much better.
I personally carry a Military (with the titanium handles) and have always been extremely happy with it and, since it's a much larger knife, I can use it for PD if necessary. It scares the shit out of people to be quite honest.

My current EDC knife is a VG-10, I wouldn't mind going to something that retains it's edge a little better, as I do abuse it a lot at work.
