Things that sounds too good to be true usually are. The only reason I’m considering these at all is because 4Patriot is a reputable company.

Has anyone here used these particular rechargeable batteries?

They are not telling you the battery chemistry. This is a massive red flag for me. Secondly, they are not spec'ing a capacity or discharge rate.

Given all of these, I'd never touch the product. (I deal with batteries professionally, so I have strong opinions here.)

That being said, very likely this is what they are selling (or a lower capacity version if it.)

It I was buying this, I'd at least buy from someone who had the decency to spec a nominal charge capacity.

(edit: and to be clear - I'm not saying that Aliexpress supplier has a good product or not. About 70% of the batteries on the market are fraudulent when it comes to capacity ... likely these are the same.)

A 5900mAh rechargeable AA battery? Lol what bullshit. Typical alibaba chinks.

this was going to....

its scammish to be, they throw "patriot" on the label and pump them out the door

also if they are the shitty rechargable ones, forget about it

I just bought a pair of Dakota Lithium batteries for my house. Holly shit are these fuckers expensive! But they work and deliver their stated capacity. Those small rechargeable batteries sound like rebranded Chinese junk. There's no stated specs for them, so I would stay away.

I picked a Li-on Nightcore charger (a genuine one) that runs off mains or 12v

Panasonic NCR18650G Samsung 25R both good

switch out your old alkaline AA torches and maglites for LED li-ons, they are brighter, last longer and perform better in the cold, I'd recommend the dual battery 18650 led torches, better to have something that lasts longer if you need it

yes you can walk into a fuel station and get a pack of AA's today, but if SHTF they will all be sold out and you'd be stuck then

You don't want to rely on someone else's supply chain for basic stuff like light.

The OP's batteries are overpriced gimmicky shite, only buy proper branded batteries from reliable sources, and yes they will all cost a fair amount of money.

Never used these, but the USB-rechargeables have been around for a while and never really took off. If you have need of a particular size, you'd almost be better off getting plain old NIMH batteries and a plug-in charger.

If you're looking for batteries to use in a pinch, remember that rechargeables will slowly discharge over time, leaving you with a dead (and possibly inoperable battery) but plain old Alkaline cells can sit on a shelf for 5 years without issue.

Spammy as shit. Vote this down to hell.

Where would you use these batteries? These days devices that need a lot of batteries will have a rechargeable lithium battery in them. And using them in low-power devices doesn't make sense. For example, my TI-85 takes 4xAAA batteries and they will last five years. It makes no sense to get rechargeable batteries for it.

And remember that NiMH batteries are only 1.2V instead of 1.5V. They don't last as long and they do degrade over time.

We live wholly off grid and do a lot of things old school. Nothing we own has its own rechargeable batteries except phones and hearing devices. And even the phone batteries are limited. We use batteries. I can swear we’ve never had one last 5 years in any application. Clock, flashlights, tv remote all last 6 months to a year, max, on quality batteries.
