We live on solar and our system is not big enough to handle a deep freeze, even a 12V one. I can or dehydrate just about everything. I a lot of meat every year. It’s so flavorful. I “lost” a jar of pork for 2 years. It was still good and we ate it. Lost several jars of cranberry sauce canned in 2017. One seal was broken but the others were good. I’ve not tried the reusable lids mainly because they are not recommended for fatty or greasy foods and most of what I can has some sort of fat in it.
