I love the driving a hatchet with a mallet method of cutting out the door, but I think these days I would put an abrasive disk on grinder and/or circular saw. Or saber saw it. The shell casing door pull is classic.

Ya, I've seen and used a lot of them over the years, too. Most of them made from kits that have the smoke collar/ damper, door, legs premade. Barrels only last a few years though if they are used a lot.
