you mean two seperate ignition areas; a lower fire that makes woodgas due to lots of heat and not much oxygen and an upper area where the woodgas is burned. this is done different ways including wraping split logs together with farm wire. or even a tall steel can with some or no carbs cut out at the top. if there is a secondary combustion of woodgas and draft its a rocketstove.
