I didn't understand this college 'scandal' anyway. I thought college was literally PAY to get in...when did that change?

Colleges have to pretend that admissions are based solely on merit when everyone knows that connections can get someone in. I knew a guy who claimed his rich parents bought him admission to medical school. He went into research and was never a practicing doctor.
