Tried to reupload this image(pic8.co) from this postminus the color. Pic8 returns the url to the colored image when I upload the bw image(files.catbox.moe).

That's because the hash signature of the image is based on the image raw pixel data and doesn't take the palette into account.

That's how the pic8 name is generated and duplicates are avoided.
