Use another dns service, use https, just do stuff so your ISP is able to directly see your actions. If you have access to the router change the dns servers to different IP address to dns servers that do not filter aka spy on your web activity.
Stuck with the hard-coded DNS server the ISP fags put in the router they sent me. Doesn't matter what I put into the OS's ip config.. just redirects to the ISP approved DNS. That's fuct.. Need to get my own router..
Yes you do. You can buy used working ones online for under a $100 for a decent one and under$50 for a normal one. I saw the model that was the year after improved one the family uses and it was $50 and likely faster even used than the one we use now.
Heck I imagine some store chains take trade ins if you pick up something for over $200 or even $300 and give you so much off then sell it for twice as much after hitting it with compressed air to blow the dust off the inside components then wipe out the inside of the case with alcohol and outside then just attach it to a test bench system and see if it connects and downloads at a decent speed so 10 minutes work for $25 profit on a used system.
If using firefox try out smart https, https everywhere is like firefox's built in preferences that is a major pain in the ass acting like the site had their certs taken away when in reality they just couldn't afford to pay for them in this economy.
That's a negative result, at least in this scenario. Thanks for the suggestion.
Been needing to get my own modem/router anyway, now is probably a good time.
