What's up with it on the steam forums? All I'm saying is that as a gay man I wouldn't like to play as a female and would prefer a silent protagonist like in the previous game. I'm not allowed to review the game on steam and my discussion posts on steam get nuked.

When the initial game came out, it was found that their sound guy made some tweets in the past that went against the establishment's agenda, and he was removed (or left, can't remember now) from the project. Since then they've basically been just your standard "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee muh diversity" games shop. Sad, because Subnautica was a beautiful game.

edit: I believe a good game should transcend the character's sex.

Yea like I wouldn't have cared if it was a silent protagonist with a female character model but they gave it a voice and female lines and more bs in the newer versions.

I agree. When I watched some of the play through of the original game, you really didn't know what the "player" was, until some jackass made a stink about it being male.

Oh well, the last I saw on the latest game was it kind of stalled. I guess no one wants a game where the enemy is a virus these days.
