There are cheap crappy portable oscilloscopes for less than a hundred bucks, and they do the job for the most part, especially if you use them to fix audio equipments.

Along with a multimeter and an ESR tester, that’s all you really need. A FLIR camera is also a good add-on to spot shorted smd caps and mostfet.

It's nice to have other equipment, but yes - a good tech can do 95% of the work with those devices.
