I miss the old ways...metal thermostat housing, thermostats that are mechanical. Things worked or they didn't and you were able to take it apart and fix the broken bit, reassemble and get back to work.

Thermostats...you can still get the old Honeywell mercury switch round units. Same as they've always been.

My stupid car has a sensor in the thermostat, so I can't replace it with one that works normally. I'm tempted to go buy an 57 Chevy and cage it.

Ah, you mean on a car. Yeah, those are stupid these days. Way too many sensors and shit to go bad.
