I watched it. It’s an interesting story.
There’s another one about Commodore and Tramiel fighting for the 68K dominance (Amiga vs Atari).
The only reason Atari stood so long was because it had built-in MIDI ports and Cubase.
The Amiga was far superior on so many levels. Bars n Pipes was also a very good MIDI sequencer app, but Commodore management never really cared about the music industry, and was more focused on video/graphics capabilities and games.
Used my ST for quite some time. Here in Germany they had a nice foothold in the professional market for a while. It was also nice that they had an SCSI (ACSI) like port included from the very start. The Amigas were superior in the gaming department and their multitasking OS was nice.
The Toaster, Genlocks. AD Pro, DPaint (and later on Brilliance), Scala MM series, all these were used for Television studio and live broadcasting.
Game piracy is what made it popular to the public.
Still got my Atari running BBC UMI music sequencing. Moved on to Cubase but the original is still sitting there :)
