I'm refurbishing some NES's

Top one is already refurbished and tested. Time to dig into the other two.

They're dirty. This will take a little while. I'll post updates of my progress.

Testing to see if it works. This one has the "red blinking light".

Someone has been in this before. These screws aren't even in all the way.

All torn apart. Time for cleaning.

Trade secrect. To clean contacts like this just use a pencil eraser.

Connectors all cleaned. Capacitors all tested. Time for a new 72 pin connector, piece it all back together and test it out.

Almost forgot. Redoing the thermal compound on the only heatsink in the system. Take the old compound off with high % isopropyl alcohol. New thermal compound is arctic silver 5.

System put back together enough for testing. IT'S ALIVE!

Depends on how rough of shape they're in. Some soldering skills and a cap tester. Otherwise just attention to detail, cleaning supplies, and a 72 pin connector.
