Windows always kills itself over time. The guys I know and myself always called it "windows AIDS" and no matter what you did you would have to do a full reinstall every now and then.

Though, I just use it for games that don't really work in *nix. I don't game so much anymore and a lot of games work in *nix now and more every day. I am happy about that.
