It's the same reason why slaves don't need masters, but masters need slaves. Any time a particular group elevates a leader, it's not because of the negative qualities they have. The positive qualities they share inspire their cohesion. The only thing the leader does is guides the mob and keeps them together as a unit.
Seems cogent but some part of me says I disagree, and I don't know why. Probably because I'm drunk. But I'm gonna need you to elaborate on your thinking here to clarify what the hell you're getting at because I've legit been in a pseudo-religious delirious fever-dream for two days because of the flu, in combination to being drunk.
I'm barely alive as it is. So explain your thinking if you have the time.
Well, "electing a leader" is contingent upon forsaking the drawbacks of having that particular leader. This is how tyrannical hierarchies form. The ones that are close to said leaders court favor and essentially abandon the group, but the rest of them ignore it because they agree (for now) with the aims and ledger of actions thus far. This explains a little more your first line: "there is a difference between the worship of an individual vs worship of a group." The reason that we see the negative qualities about a leader in hindsight and pull them back down from their elevated position is because they become human again, not the one steering the ship, who we all have to suspend disbelief of until we arrive at our destination. This is the essence of "worship" of a leader versus an individual.

Look I understand you have an IQ in the range of 130-145, but you're gonna have to dumb it down a little further for me. Not trolling.
Even people that are the smartest or the best leaders are human. Followers in a group have a way of avoiding that until this person isn't in the position that makes them great anymore, which happens to all men.
An individual only truly has the "celebrity of the moment".
Basically this, which you said in your first reply.
