I read an article in the last 6 month where it was talking about all the debt they experienced when creating this system and how they ended up with higher prices and wages because of all these social systems.

Problem is you'd have to take away around 90% profit on medical equipment and drugs. Not to mention the medical schools would take a huge cut on tuition and insurance would have to be no profit and the doctors would have to likely take limited patients and limited "a huge cut" salaries and hospitals would have to sell off their stock and become not a place to profit but to heal people.

I find this very unlikely to happen with the greed based politics in this country. Heck most of congress is likely highly invested in HMO's and other healthcare businesses so they'd have to vote to lose money personally, and that is not going to happen.
