What would this accomplish? If I had access to their account I would checkout their order for sure.
It probably tripped something in the vendor's algorithms that indicated that the book appears to be popular since 153000 were added to a cart.
I wouldn't consider anything other than actual purchases because everyone has a cart full of crap they won't ultimately buy.
It wouldn't carry the same weight, but it's most certainly tracked. Some computer program noticed that 100k+ of an item was added to a cart.
It's possible it even tripped a glowie computer, considering the material.

She probably thinks they are holding that inventory for her and thus cannot be sold to other people.
I'd gift one to her.
