Like every parent, I don’t want life to be difficult for my child.

I took the other approach and made sure my child faced difficulties all the time. They become weak and reliant on others when they don't have difficulties. Life isn't supposed to be easy. It's very difficult, children need to learn nothing is easy. As an adult, life is still difficult, but I'm equipped to handle it now. I don't rely on others. I find I despise people who are dependent more and more.

Although a parent’s job is to set rules to guide children, when it comes to gender identity and expression, it is best to listen to children’s emerging identities,

The paradox is strong here. Which is it? Wrong. Children are not equipped to make decisions like this. Apparently, many parents aren't either.
