It's worse. They pray to be allowed to be lying, cheating bastards and still be considered "clean." They pray that they are not beholden to any contract, verbal or written, that they do not have to fulfill the end of any bargain they make. They pray they can take and take and take, swindling anyone they can and suffer no consequences.
