The last thing that a gun store owner would want to be public knowledge would be that they ratted out one of their clients and probably asked the cops to contact the Sheriff one state over. You just don't pull some spics over in sanctuary state Colorado without a damn good reason for it, especially for a broken licence plate bulb. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
