Look for the big scam there, because in my state there are many discounts for cash and 2% charges for a card to pay for the transaction. Part of it may be they can not trust their own workers to handle cash without filling their pockets.

The solution is simple. Just refuse to go to places like this and refuse to spend money with those vendors/companies. It's amazing how much money you save when you stop giving it to people that hate you.
