Accurate. I know how they operate and are programmed, I just find it amusing to express it in terms of them having the memories of goldfish.
Ultimately it's all just emotional Pavlovian response for them, TV said "safe and effective" with a positive sounding theme song and happy colors, so it must be true. etc
