No. They need to be submissive to men. Men need to be strong leaders of women. As has been the case for all recorded history of successful civilization. Only the indoctrinated believe otherwise. There certainly is no recent discovery which invalidates the historical norm. In fact, recent history only further affirms it. To be clear, did women give themselves suffrage? Or did men? Did men allow women out of the kitchen or did men allow them to enter the workforce? Like it or not, but men and women have both been destroying civilization. And it started with weak men facilitating the natural proclivities of women. Women now do what comes natural to them - destroying children and civilization with men (and civilization) paying for it all.
