That’s part of the drive behind the school choice movement. Some parents want to be able to drop their kids off at a school they prefer, not the one assigned to their address. That’s taking their money to a different school. Some parents want to school their own kids. That’s keeping their money and doing it themselves. In most of the US you can do neither of these things. That is changing.
