I can see where you're going with this. But, I don't think that the Liberals really match up with the Vanir very well. The Vanir were in charge of fields and animal, arts and crafts. Modern day liberals produce absolutely nothing. They can't farm or take care of any animals other than cats. Most I know can't even keep a cactus alive. Their arts and crafts are degenerate, and glorify only sex. Even their sex is devoid of fertility and creation, as they purposely sterilize themselves. Liberals are purely hedonistic parasites, leeching off of the hard work of conservatives (Aesir in your comparison), completely devoid of creativity, and fertility. Liberals aren't even peaceful. Creatures of pure emotion, lashing out viciously at anything and everything.
So, they don't have peace. They don't have plenty, only able to consume. They don't celebrate anything but the destruction of society, which they did not create. They don't have fertility, as they purposely sterilize themselves, and destroy what little they do create.
I want to compare them to the Jotunn (big eaters), but even the Jotunn had their own complex societies, had farms, created works of art, and reproduced. So, even that is a poor comparison.
As mindless beasts of pure consumption and destruction, modern day liberals really have no real comparison in the myths.
You make some good points regarding productivity (or lack thereof). The tenders of the fields and the producers of food are indeed overwhelmingly conservative (unless you count the swarthy pickers and farmhands). What's more, I have a hard time seeing Freyr in the modern day farmer or Freyja in the farmer's wife, mother, or sister. I would like to say that people connected to the land are spiritually tuned in, but I believe nowadays most real farms are big business, as far away as you can be from quotidian life.
Nor am I, a so-called "Aesir identifier," really connected with nature, other than my chickens and garden and weekend warrior-type fondness for hiking and cross-country skiing.
But I still see that there are persistent types that inhabit different realms. Some of us own weapons, honor promises, open our eyes to truth, and hunt; others sacrifice strength for love (and are proud to do so), are materialistic, and are given to tolerating sexual immorality (in their day it was incest, but maybe in ours it is homosexuality). The parallels, while not complete, are there.
I was purposefully trying to avoid the liberal-conservative distinction, since many conservatives, I think, belong to the cult of the Vanir. It's confusing where exactly the lines are drawn, but I do believe there are types.
