here are some examples of what "wild magic" might do, it turns out
0095 all gems carried by the caster combust
0249 anyone slain by the caster fossilizes instantly
0456 caster becomes striped like a zebra
0390 caster attracts all undead within 1 mile of him
0792 caster develops an intense craving for dirt and mud
and many more wonderful little spells just as amazing
EDIT: oh wait, there's also the deck of many things...
