This weekend the Irminfolk celebrated our tenth Midsummer together in the upper Delaware Valley.
Over several days we camped out in order to fix up and prepare the site for guests.
While the women cooked the Midsummer feast, the men built new fire rings, mended wind-blown roofing, and dug drainage to move all of the recent rainfall down the hill and away from the roads and campsites.
The children found vines in an old oak tree and entertained themselves for the whole weekend without the aid of electronics. The power even failed for several hours and very few people even noticed there had been a blackout.
Of the dozen or so children present, more than half of them have had their naming rite right there on that very spot. A true, lasting, community.
Hail Baldur and Hail Sunna.
We hope to see everyone again at Folkish Summer Hallowing in August!
