I really only started reading up on heathen subjects a year ago after I stumbled on a pop book at the airport (Gainman) and maybe saw a few online videos centered around Norse pagan beliefs. I have since been searching out reputable websites and raiding my library for eddic translations and historical analysis. I made this sub around the same time I decided to become more knowledgeable on this subject, and the need to fill it with content has been a driver to keep going.

But years before poal or voat or really even using the internet for purposes other than flash games and checking email, I remember making a calendar for myself and remembered that Thursday really meant Thor's day. So for fun I wrote Thor's day in the space for Thursday and then the other days as I knew them in regular english. Before I made next month's calendar page (I made them one at a time, so about a month later), I looked up how the other days of the week originated and learned Wednesday was Woden's day and Tuesday was Tyr's Day and Saturday was for Saturnus and so on.

So even before I considered these heathen subjects an interest of mine, I had some kind of vague awareness and enjoyment of a pagan backdrop within our culture. I was primed in a way, so that later when videos and books on this subject came before me I decided to pick them over others I could have spent my time on.

What about you (at least those of you who are interested in this)? Where can you first remember your awareness starting?
