They're more accurate than you might think at 100 yards. Depends on the round. Sweet spot for mine is 124 grain, although 145 can be pretty damn accurate too. The full burn in a 16 inch barrel gives much different long range ballistics than out of a 4 or less.

But you are right, a 556 is gonna be the superior rifle for long range engagements, assuming that's what you want out of your weapon. my carbine is better for my use-case

Ah I see. I prefer 300 blackout subs suppressed for what I'm guessing is your use case. Are you running suppressed?

Negative, going for inexpensive. I clean toilets. So cost per shot is a larger concern for me. Plus, having lived on the west coast for 30 years (and a lesser degree for where I am now too), it's easier to explain to a jury using a 9mm over what they consider a "scary black rifle". My bubba gun isn't scary. Tacky maybe, but not scary.

I get that. I'm fortunate enough to be able to reload it for cheap, I can load 190 grain subs for about 40 cents a round.
