Haven't a lot of these been discontinued for years? The G17 Gen5 came out in 2017 for example. Regardless there are quite literally millions of these in circulation. If you want one it won't be hard to find.
All it means (to me, anyway) is that Glock is no longer going to make official replacement parts for these models. To your point, there are literally millions of these in circulation. The aftermarket for Glocks is a billion dollar industry. None of that will change.
