Depends on the environment your fighting in, as much as the country as many here have already stated. Personally, I'd take a 12 gauge with 00 buck over either rifle platform for an urban warfare scenario, but I'm weird like that
I bet there is a surprising amount of 7.62 x39 here already. Not to mention confiscating if attacked.
More than you'd think, yes. Hell, theres a healthy amount of 7.62x54R too after the Mosin craze 10 years ago. If your fighting in a militia or military, then you'd want a real rifle. But real life ain't a FPS, and you don't want to be getting into a gunfight if you can avoid it. If your in a rural or innawoods place, that's easy. Urban, if innawoods isn't an option, you're gonna fortify up. In that case, you want a stash of a few hundred rounds and a weapon your comfortable with in close quarters. Shotguns are perfect for that.
