Optics on rifles make sense, and optics on full size handguns for plinking or home defense make sense, but why optics on compacts? They exist for concealability, so making the gun bulkier makes little sense.

My EDC is a Glock 48. I carry AIWB and have a red dot on it. The optic is a slim one, designed for compact pistols, and really doesn't make it any more noticeable than with iron sites.

As eyes age, it is easier to aim quickly with the red dot. I am used to concealing a glock 19, so a sig p365 with a red dot is no issue at all.
