I've never bought a handgun from Cabela's, but I've purchased a couple of rifles and that was bad enough. It literally takes an hour or more to wait for them to go through their whole check, re-check, re-re-check, re-re-re-check process where everybody from the salesman to the cashiers up to the store manager and back down to the janitor has to check the gun, the SN, and the paperwork at least 20 times each. And then do it all over again just to be sure. Once they're finally finished, assuming you still remember what you bought you still can't touch it until after an employee takes it and escorts you out the store into the parking lot. From there, you can finally have your new firearm and you can then go ahead and start gunning down people in the parking lot if you want. Just don't do it until you've left the store.

Yes this.

lmao..

I would never buy or own firearms.

I already lost this purchase in a boating accident.

Boats suck. I think I'm going to need to buy a new one. Seems like everything on the deck ends up in the water. Do any that don't have that problem exist?

[–] 1 pt

Not that I'm aware of. Was thinking of using one of those pole things to fish. Heard that mitigate the issue, but dynamite and firearms are so much more efficient fishing tools.

Me too, I heard that guns have recently become the leading cause of death for despots.

I bought some, but kept losing them in random boating accidents

I may have purchased firearms and ammunition in the past, but I keep losing them in boating accidents.

firearms aren't real anyway, their just a movie prop designed to keep us sheep in fear of casualty forks

try buying a firearm in Commieforia. I usually buy from local mom and pop store. I didn't realize they "auto filled" some steps. I went to a chain store because they had the new to california p365. holyshit.jpg fuck corporate store, fuck idiot legislators that have no idea how crime happens; damn i lost it already at the bottom of lake Tahoe.

At least it's a nice place to lose a gun.

Never buy a gun at Cabelas, they're retarded.

[–] 1 pt

The place I usually buy from didn't have the gun in stock. After dealing with Cabela's I wish I would have just waited.

gun

What kind of a knife is that?

[–] 1 pt

The blade isn't sharp, but the speed of the blade is what makes it so awesome.

My local ffl at an auto parts store retired and gave up his ffl, He unknowingly has saved me alot of money.

Auto parts and firearms, that is my kind of shopping experience!

small independent auto store also. The check never even took 5 minutes. And you could stand right there beside him.

[–] 2 pts

I usually wait for the gun shows to come around. Just because its the best deals I can get locally on good stuff.

The checks always take 5 mins and if you are willing to haggle you get usually get em to throw in a bag or something else small with it.

At least part of this is legitimate CYA for the company. Excessive? Of course, but they can't make a mistake. If one 'i' isn't dotted or one 't' isn't crossed, the BATF shows up and pulls their FFL ticket.

It’s not necessarily the FFL paperwork process, it’s that every fucking person has to check and re-check. And then they box up your gun and escort your ass to the door. Whereas you buy a firearm at a small mom-and-pop shop and they could give a flying fuck. It’s all the corporate bullshit that comes with these large corporations. The answer is to support mom-and-pop stores and stop giving your money to corporations.

I fully understand it is CYA. I showed a lot of patience with the staff. I know they were following procedure. However it is too excessive. I'll never deal with them again.

I get it. I have an FFL dealer one man show a couple miles from me. Much preferred.

I haven't bought a gun from a dealer in so long I couldn't even remember the last time I've filled out a form to buy a weapon. Private sales are the way to go.

[–] 1 pt

I had the same experience.

I would never bother to buy a gun from any retailer like Cabela's. I am sure it was more adding you to a databases. What did you buy, if you don't mind me asking?

[–] 1 pt

I'm so glad I live where I live. Last gun purchase took 5 mins or so.
