One of the most useful bits of training I've ever had was malfunction training. Instructor walks around and randomly taps you for a malfunction. Sometimes 1 in 50, sometimes every round. Got really good at tap-rack-bang by reflex

Yea can have your range buddies load up a dummy round or two in your mags at random
