Probably would have been easier for the Afghan military to hold the base if the USA left it in a functional state. But they basically ripped anything important out of the walls as they left in less than 24 hrs. The amount of tax payer money just wasted. If they allowed the Afghan military to take it the hospital on the base, as is, would be the most sophisticated hospital in the country. As it is. Half the shit is getting looted and the other half destroyed before any use comes of it. Awesome fucking job. That base along with others like it were built with $45 tax payer nails. $600 toilet bowls, and $200 plywood boards.
