I started playing this game right after my son was born (lots of couch time) and forgot how fun it was. I believe there are quite a few hacks that add tracks and possibly different ships but I haven't gotten around to trying them yet.

This(romhacking.net) is where I find most of them but there are other sites as well. Applying the patches are straight forward but there have been a few that I had to troubleshoot.
