i’ve never bought a suppressor before, so i don’t understand every detail involved, and who/what/where/how i’m supposed to stay on top of and keep track of.

in january 2024 i did some research on what i wanted, and went to a small business FFL who is a silencer co rep with a kiosk. we did the fingerprints and then the rest of the forms i did separately over email with silencer co. i received notice from silencer co all forms were complete and figured that was it and i wait for a year.

in april i had a firearm FFL’d at the same dealer; and asked him if everything was in-processing for the suppressor and he assured me everything was good to go and we just wait for the ATF.

still not hearing anything about 400 days later, i check directly with silencer co, and apparently my FFL dude “never certified the order or staged the paperwork, so they were not notified to go certify”

That sucks...my local guy has a kiosk machine that does everything, including fingerprinting; apps going through in weeks to maybe two months, max.

ATF is processing them pretty quickly now, apparently, I'd go try again.
