China is already doing it. We are -starting- to do it but it makes so much more sense than building over farm land. It also makes it WAY easier to clean them. Dust alone can decrease efficiency 10%+

To me solar is a boondoggle since it never amortizes without out federal subsidies.
But I think there are some places that solar does help augment the grid. But we still need on demand power.

Yes, In my current property I don't have solar and don't intend to install it. When I move I will put in a system (DIY) with battery and transfer switching. It would take about 5-6 years but I would "recoup" my costs. Maybe sooner since I can do almost all of the work myself.
