I got one of these texts. Here is what it says:

"Hey [my first name]- it's Harry with Progressive Turnout Project! We're paying Democrats like you $250/week to rally your friends and family to vote! Interested?" Reply STOP to end

I don't know what to do with this. This is obviously BRIBERY for democrat votes. Also, I've never been a registered democrat in my life, so I have no idea why they singled me out.

If republicans were doing this the dems would say it was illegal.

Technically on the site they are giving money to go talk to people who vote inconsistently Dem, and also to help fund Dem candidates and get people out to vote, rather than directly give people money in exchange for a promise to vote a certain way.

But if Reps did this it would be called mafia style intimidation and coercion etc... The same way they say that people who watch drop boxes are republican's intimidators.
