I think, unfortunately for Hollywood writers, crapping on everyone's religious affiliation is very outdated. It was "edgy" in 1990, now it's just kind of sad. It reminds me of teenage angst. Just rebelling for the sake of it, but everyone sees through it now.

That identity is premised on the rejection of God, which is Logos, and therefore they pride themselves on being able to lie and demonstrate their lack of integrity like OP has to me because it’s the opposite (rejection) of Truth/Logos.
