I have read some really stupid shit put out by the government but this line here just takes the cake:

One goal of the new report is to shift the responsibility of cybersecurity away from individuals and small businesses and onto large organizations, technology companies, and the US government, which are “more capable of managing the ever-evolving threat,” the White House news release said.

So dumping a language that is DESIGNED for direct hardware interaction and turning over cybersecurity to the government is what someone recommends? I hope the ONCD people who wrote this trash swallow bullets. Random niggers on the street are smarter and far more valuable than these clowns.

You are assuming of course that it is incompetence rather than malice.

Just more evidence the government are the enemy

You'll have to pry my C++ complier from my cold, dead hands!

This is seriously fucked up. Assembly language is a lot worse. It's responsible for a lot more vulnerabilities.

But this is the gun argument again. It's not the tool, it's the pajeets using it!

What are people supposed to use to create operating systems and device drivers?

Stop asking such questions, it only leads to people denying the narrative.

What did they recommend to replace them, COBOL? Machine Code?

Rust I think.

Rust is what they mention in the article. (Info for the lazies who didn't read it)

given how hard (((they))) they are pushing rust

there must be some poison pill there, a big one

They list in the article. Basically languages backed by M$ and Oracle but that isn't really the point. Infoworld is a shit rag written for dumb ass mangers and directors. They are going to read this bullshit and put out some directive to "rewrite all C/C++ code to Java or C#". A few smart mangers will see this, get a chuckle, and wipe their ass with the magazine next time they take a shit but most of the younger managers will see this as their "time to shine" moment.

Python. That's what they'll try to rewrite shit in. How absurd.

I want to know what they figured out they could do with C and C++ and want to keep it hidden.
