That is a beautiful loaf.
Nice knife.
I do not believe you have any understanding of knives sir.
Thank you. Not much of a stabbing weapon though.
Looks moist.
It was. I used milk instead of water, added a touch of lemon juice, a couple tablespoons of sour cream and half a stick of softened butter in the recipe.
Sounds great. Put a loaf of White bread in the wife's oven.
We're trying. We've got 3 but I want at least 1 more. 2 if I can convince her.
My homemade loaves always come out too dense. Not sure why after several times using various recipes.
Have you tried adding a little baking soda? I forget who, but someone once told me to add some for that very reason.
I've tried 1 and 2 tablespoons, guess I will just add more until it is light and fluffy enough.
Make sure to add just a little bit of lemon juice if you use baking soda. It needs the acid to properly work. Just don't use too much.
cool!
Few things as satisfying and comforting as home made bread baking in the oven. One time we were making sourdough bread (my starter is 14 years old) and we messed up and added way too much honey. I added more flour and a little extra yeast and hoped for the best. Turned out to be the best bread we ever made.
Buddy of mine gave me a nice home made loaf the other day. Damn fine as it was, but the wife made breakfast for dinner with it one night. Triple decker French toast, spicy pulled chicken and cheese sandwich. Toasted with butter was about enough to knock my socks off, that meal woulda sent me into orbit had it not knocked my ass out.
That sounds delicious Sometimes breakfast for dinner is the way to go.
killer food coma. Hold on to that wife you have there, she sounds like a keeper.
